It all went down at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Abuja Model Study Center Dutse on a Saturday morning February 17th 2018, when a course with a course code and title CIT 484 – Website Design and Programming that was supposed to have been written on a Saturday 27th of January 2018, but postponed due to a general sanitation exercise carried out in some part of the country.
The above examination was slated for 8 AM. Some final year Computer Science students and Communication Technology students started arriving the examination venue with their proposed dress code, a blue jeans and a white t-shirts, to make the day look colorful. The environment was a little bit calm due to the examination pressure, so everyone were facing his/her books to make sure the outcome of the examination was a success.
Many wrote and were about requesting for an extra sheet. The outcome of this examination made the celebration of that day a fulfilled one. Here comes the fun of the day were most students wrote and signed on others t-shirts with a permanent marker pen. The funny part was that most students on purpose wrote this with the intensions that it won’t go off no matter the amount of detergent applied on the t-shirts.
There were a lot of photo session, most students came with their hand held devices and selfie sticks, taking selfies, group photograph and some of them started running out of space on their phones. Approximately more than 500 shots were taken on this very day. Some of the students that came around with four wheeled helped to convey some of the students to the venue where they planned to hangout.
The most interesting part of this event was the location of venue where they planned to hangout and have some drinks, as proposed earlier, it was Jabbi Lake but arriving there the whole story changed and there were many suggestions of more cool places around town. To cut the long scenario short, after some hours of annoying long drive from one place to another including the heat radiating from the sun, they finally settled at the Eden Place in town where they sat down for some drinks and foods and also share some of their personal experience during their stay in school, and also thanking God who made it possible.
All thanks to God Almighty and the team who coordinated the event of that day, which are:
- Benedict Obinna(SUG)
- Moshood Mubarak
- Salvation Ikpeaba
They apologized for all the inconveniences and promised to even plan a bigger and better get together during the upcoming convocation ceremony by Gods’ grace.
