1. With the aid of Statutory authority or Case law, briefly explain the following Canon of Interpretation use by Courts from their context.

1. Mischief Rule
2. Golden Rule
3. Literal Rule

2. Savigny is an Authority in Law and Custom, that any particular system of Law was the reflection of the spirit of the people who evolved it, therefore, Law is an expression of the will of the people.  Discuss Volksgeist theory, types of custom and Limitations of custom if any.

3. Jurisprudentially, Law draws its validity from different springs of water.  Do you agree?  What are the merits of Legislation?

4. What do you understand by the analysis of:

1.  Hohfeld’s concept of lights, duties and liabilities?
2. Briefly explain three of the following:

2. Ownership
3. Personality
4. Liberty.

5. Jurisprudence is the science and study of Law, How true is this statement in relation to scope, nature and purpose.

6. Name and discuss five Schools of thoughts in relation to law and their relevance in contemporary society.

7. Distinguish between the following terms and is there any nexus between them?

1. Justice
2. Religion
3. Morality

8. Law has been described as a tool for Social Engineering and dynamic in nature.  Elucidate this statement.

9. Legal Practitioners all over the World have Code of Ethics which they must observe, particularly, with reference to Nigerian Lawyers.  Briefly discuss his duties to Courts, his clients and to his learned colleagues.
