1a.          Briefly explain the following protocols;

i. TCP (3 points)

ii. FTP (3 points)

iii. HTTP (3 points)

b.            With the aid of a table, state the differences between a web client and a web server.                    (8.5 points)

2a           Write the HTML code for a web form displayed below.  Use appropriate names and values for each of the fields. The form should be processed by a file called process.php using the POST method.         (10 points)

2b.          List 3 HTML tags that require no closing/ending tag                                                                                          (7.5 points)

3a.          List 4 web browsers                                                                                                                                                        (6 points)

3b.          Write a piece of Javascript code that displays the message: “We wish you a merry Christmas!” on a web page. The code should contain one single-line comment of your choice AND one multiple-line comment of your choice.                                                                                                                                                     (11.5 points)

4a.          Write a piece of Javascript code to calculate the average of the all numbers from 0 to 100 inclusive (ie. 0, 1,2,…,100). The code should display the message: “The average is …” at the end of the calculation.

4b.          List the three (3) components of a search engine                                                                                             (7.5 points)

5a.          Give 3 examples of JavaScript events.                                                                                                                    (7.5 points)

5b.          Write a piece of Javascript code to perform the following operations;

i. Display an alert box with the message: “This is an easy exam”.                                                                                (5 points)

ii. Display a prompt box with the message: “Please enter your phone number”.                                                 (5 points)

6a.          Give the full meaning of the acronym XML and state the use/importance of XML.                            (5.5 points)

6b.          Define cloud computing and state how it differs from the traditional client/server model.             (12 points)
