INSTRUCTION: Answer question one and any other three questions out of six.

1.         (a) Explain why SQL is regarded as a non-procedural language, stating at least two of its advantages over other programming languages.

            (b) Enumerate at least ten Codd’s rules on relational model of SQL.

2.         (a) List at least three non-numeric Data Type in C++

            (b) Explain each of the three non-numeric Data type mentioned above.

3.         (a) Explain the difference between the “While Loop” and the “For Loop”

            (b) Outline at least ten library functions and their equivalent types in C language.

4.         (a) Define the term Constants.

            (b) Differentiate among the following, using suitable example in each case:

i. Integer constants

ii. Floating-point constants

iii. Character constants

iv. String constants

5.         (a) List at least four (4) independent libraries for input/output operations in Ada.

            (b) Write short note on each of the following in relation to database management:

i. A Record

ii. A Column

iii. A Field

6.         (a) Define the term Operator.

(b) Using appropriate Boolean expression, outline the various types of Relational and Unary adding Operators.
