COURSE TITLE: COOPERATIVE LEGISLATION

Instructions: 1. Attempt question number one (1) and any other two (2).

                       2. Question number 1 is compulsory and carries 30 marks  while the other 2 questions carry 20 marks each.

1. 1. a.   Describe quorum formation in a cooperative.
      2. State the powers of annual general assembly.
      3.  Explain the privileges and benefits of registered co-operative members.
      4. Enumerate the rights and liabilities of co-operative society members as stipulated in the by-laws.
      5. What do you understand by ‘Management Committee’?
      6. List the roles of Management Committee in the running of the affairs of co-operative societies.

2. a. Discuss the duties of co-operative society members.

b. Explain the guidelines for the selection of directors. 

3. List and fully discuss at least six (5) functions of the board of directors of co-operative societies.

4. a. State and discuss the types of auditors.

b. Clearly explain the following in management of co-operative societies:

I. Functions of the auditors,

ii. Powers of the auditors.

c. Explain what happens to the auditor report after auditing?

5. a. Discuss the circumstances that necessitate the setting up of inquiry and inspection of a co-operative society

b. Explain the procedure for the dissolution of co-operative societies.
