1 a) List five aims and objectives of early childhood education as expressed in the Nigeria National Policy on Education.

   d) Give four basic tenets of psychoanalytic theory of child development.

2 a) Describe with the help of a diagram the four levels of the environment that influence children’s development with reference to ecological systems theory of child development.

3 a) What do you understand by gross motor development? 

   b) Mention seven physical skills that preschoolers can perform.

   c) Describe two specific behaviours each that mark cognitive development at infancy and preschool stages of child development.

  d) Explain two educational implications of cognitive development at the infancy stage.

4 a) As early childhood educator, mention four points you would highlight while explaining to parents the socio-emotional development of their preschool-aged children.

   b) Describe two ways by which children can learn moral behaviour in Nigeria.

   c) List four causes of visual impairment that are attributed to condition of the eye.

   d) List four characteristics of children with physical disability.
