1. English is the most widely spoken of the Western Germanic languages, both in number of native speakers and in a geographical distribution. In the light of the assertion above, discuss the factors responsible for its wide coverage across the globe.

2. In the light of the contemporary English, discuss the forms and features that were adhered to in the compilation of the contemporary English Bible.

3. Using ample examples, discuss the relationship and/or differences that cuts across the following terms: -English as a native language (ENL) -English as a second language (ESL) -English as Lingua Franca (ELF)

4. Trace and discuss the notion of the “King’s/queen’s” English. Use adequate examples to back up your answer.
