1. Write a commentary on verses 1 to 5 of Suratu n-Nabai (Chapter 78) of the Glorious Qur’an.

2. Translate the following verses of Suratu n-Nāzi‘āt into English:

وَالنَّازِعِاتِ غَرْقَا ، وَالنَّاشِطَاتِ نَشْطًا ، وَالسَّابِحَاتِ سَبْحًا ، فَالسَّابِقَاتِ سَبْقًا ، فَالْمُدَبِّرَاتِ أَمْرًا ،

 ÙŠÙŽÙˆÙ’Ù…ÙŽ تَرْجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُ ØŒ تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ ØŒ قُلُوْبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ ØŒ أَبْصَارُهَا خَاشِعَةٌ ØŒ يَقُولُوْنَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُوْدُوْنَ فِي الْحَافِرَةِ ØŒ أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَامًا نَخِرَة ØŒ قَالُوْا تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةً خَاسِرَةً ØŒ فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ ØŒ فَإِذَا هِيَ بِالسَّاهِرَةِ ØŒ

هَلْ اَتَاكَ حَدِيْثُ مُوْسَي – إِذْ نَادَاهُ رَبُّهُ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طٌوَي إِذْهَبْ إِلَي فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَي ØŒ فَقُلْ هَلْ Ù„ÙŽÙƒÙŽ إِلَي أَنْ تَزَكَّي ØŒ وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَي رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَي

3. Write a short commentary on the following verses of Suratu n-Nāzi‘āt:

• “What! Are ye the more difficult to create or the heaven (above)?

He (Allah) hath constructed it:

• On high hath He raised its canopy, and He hath given it order and perfection.
• Its night doth He endow with darkness, and its splendour doth He

            bring out (with light).

• And the earth, moreover, hath He extended (to a wide expanse);
• He draweth out there from its moisture and its pasture;
• And the mountains hath He firmly fixed;-
• For use and convenience to you and your cattle.
• Therefore, when there comes the great, overwhelming (Event),-
• The Day when man shall remember (all) that he strove for,
• And Hell-Fire shall be placed in full view for (all) to see,
• Then, for such as had transgressed all bounds,
• And had preferred the life of this world,
• The Abode will be Hell-Fire;
• And for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their

            Lord's (tribunal) and had restrained (their) soul from lower desires,

• Their abode will be the Garden.

4. Narrate the story that led to revelation of Suratu ‘Abasa and discuss lessons derivable from the story.

5. What is the significance of the conditional clauses contained in verses 1 to 13 of Suratu `t-Takwīr (Chapter 81)?
