1a. Explain with the aid of authorities the essential elements of the offence of stealing.
1b. Determine the criminal liability of X in the following:
(i) X puts a counterfeit mark on a piece of furniture and convinced Y to buy and pay for it on the belief that it is made by a certain celebrated manufacturer called Fantastic furniture.
(ii) X a police officer attached to CD Wing Nibi Local Government arrested Y and told her that if she does not give him N50,000.00 he would ensure he puts her in jail.
(iii) X hired a bicycle from John for one year under a written agreement and sold the bicycle to another person in order to get money to resolve some problems.
2. With the aid of authorities write short notes on the following:
a. Perjury
b. Bribery
c. Judicial Corruption
3a. Discuss with authorities the elements necessary to constitute the offences of Burglary and Housebreaking under the Criminal Code.
3b. Banke in one of the bungalow in Oyo Estate in Lagos State came home last night very tired and dropped her handbag on a stool near her bed very close to the window. James, the security man attached to the bungalow while strolling in the night about 7:30 pm saw the bag and used his hand to pull out the bag. He removed the entire content and dropped the bag outside the window. He later came by 6.45am the next day and picked up the bag and left the premises. What offence if any has James committed and what is the punishment. Give authorities.
4a. What are the necessary elements for the offence of False Pretence?
4b. Thomson a revenue collector for Onos Council was issued with a revenue collector’s receipt book for collection of fees for bicycle licences. He forged a similar receipt book which he used to collect fees and misappropriated the money received therefrom. Examine his criminal liability.
5. Generally in Nigeria, the law does not permit the killing of a human being by another. However there are instances where such killings are lawful. Discuss with the aid of authorities.
6a. With your understanding of punishment, explain with the aid of authorities the following disposal methods.
6b. Explain the attributes of a good sentence.
