1.(a) Mr. Vincent Alaba is a dealer in all kinds of Second hand cars popularly known in Nigeria as “tokunbo” or “fairly used” cars. On the first day of April, 2017, he received a car stolen from Ghana by one ChidiNwosu and sold it to Nze Mathew Mba of Divine Love Bible Assembly Church of the First Born, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, Lagos State.
Consider the Legal issue(s) raised and resolve it or them legally.
(b) Write note on:
2.Treason is among the highest form of offence a person can commit in Nigeria. Discuss.
3. Sedition is a crime but, it is not all seditious publication that is a crime. Discuss.
4.(a) Around 5am of 25th December, 2017, Orland Timothy broke into Mr.Chris Abah’s house located at number 6,Essien Street, Ogoja, Cross Rivers State in order to steal his laptop computer but could not find it. He later returned around 11pm on the same day with intention of stealing his gold wrist watch. He gained entrance into Mr.Abah’s bedroom by patting away his window blinds but could not reach the watch on the table close to the bed. He was arrested when he tried to run away upon sighting some worshippers returning from a church service. He has since been charged to court.
Consider the legal issues raised and apply the law.
(b) On 14th December, 2016, about 50 members of the two factions of National Union of Road Transport Workers Abule-Egba started to resolve a dispute.In the course of the resolution, one faction descended on a member of another faction. This resulted into a free for all fight leading to loss of lives and maiming and destruction of properties. Discuss the legal issues in this hypothetical case.
